These pioneer children put on their best clothes for this funny photograph. They had to sit absolutely still so the photograph would not be blurry. Frontier photographers traveled from place to place, and, over the years, they took many photographs of pioneers. Some, like this one, are kept in family photo albums. Others are kept in the archives of libraries, museums and historical societies. Many photographs of Laura Ingalls Wilder and her family are preserved in the archives of the Herbert Hoover Library and Museum in West Branch, Iowa . |
