The Burr Oak Cemetery Gates |
A Burr Oak Tree in the Cemetery |
Laura and her school friend, Alice Ward, enjoyed walking through Burr Oak to the cemetery. They read the names and verses on the white gravestones and looked out over the peaceful Iowa countryside. Today the cemetery looks much as it did when Laura lived in Burr Oak.
Laura could have seen these gravestones in 1876 and 1877.
